Birmingham law firm breaks records with their office move to 103 Colmore Row

Shoosmiths has established the largest letting to date at 103 Colmore Row.

Shoosmiths, a Birmingham-based law firm broke records last week by establishing the largest letting to date at 103 Colmore Row in central Birmingham.

The major law firm is moving its 300 legal professionals & support staff to the 11th, 12th, and 20th floors right in the centre of Birmingham’s historic business district. Shoosmiths join the ranks of financial giants Grant Thornton and wealth management advisors Tilney Smith & Williamson.

Speaking on the move, Partner’s & Co-Heads of the office,  Beth McArdle and Alex Bishop spoke of their excitement at such an important time of growth for the firm. They emphasised the client-focused nature of their business move and the aim to create a hybrid space for client and colleague meetings.

James Howarth, Managing Director at Sterling Property Ventures spoke about how he’s noticed a pattern since the outbreak of the pandemic in that businesses are increasingly reflecting on their work environment and often looking to move offices to help them better compete in the intensifying war for talent.

Additionally, the new office spaces are part of the city of Birmingham’s low-carbon district energy scheme and are amongst one of the most energy-efficient commercial office buildings in both Birmingham and the UK.
