100 jobs to be created by Nottingham law firm
The Nottingham based firm, Family Law Group has become an EOT (Employee-Ownership Trust) in a plan that is set to create up to 100 new jobs. This means that out of their 130 current employees, all staff will receive equal annual bonuses based on the firm’s overall performance.
Speaking on the change, the firm’s Director Simon Leach said “this move is about empowering our lawyers to take ownership of the firm in respect of its direction and commitment to our core values and purpose.” He also commented on the growth of the firm and how this new model will reward the people who contribute to the firm’s success and help them to attract and retain lawyers for their growing business.
The Family Law Group are not the first law firm in the Midlands to make the change to employee-owned recently, Talbots Law, became one of the largest legal practices to be owned by its employees back in November 2021. Mary Morgan the former Chief Executive of Talbot Law stated that the reason for the change was that “employee-owned businesses perform better, are more innovative and more profitable” and have better security.
